To publish your files to the World Wide Web, first you must
know which server at ASU you are using.
VMS / AXP --------------------------------------------------------------------
Most initial faculty/staff accounts are set on the VMS
server, also known as the axp machine.
The individual accounts web addresses for VMS look like
this:
http://www.appstate.edu/~username
If your personal ASU address looks like this, you are on
the VMS server. To publish your files to this server, you
will need to use an FTP program designed specifically for
moving files across the internet. The FTP programs recommended
are WSFTP for PC computers and Fetch for Mac.

Once you have uploaded your files in WSFTP or Fetch, open
an internet browser and type in your web address to view
your files in "real time" on the internet!
PM --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have requested a faculty PM account, or are working
on a departmental website that has an account on the PM
or Linux server, you will be able to utilize the FTP
capabilities of Dreamweaver.
The individual faculty accounts web addresses on VMS look
like this:
http://www1.appstate.edu/~username
To publish using Dreamweaver, you first will
need to set up your site's remote properties to log in to
the server. To do this, you will need to go into the "Manage
Sites" and "edit" your site.
