Personal Web Sites
WWW server accounts
All faculty, staff and students automatically have personal web accounts on the WWW server as long as they are members of the Appalachian community. Individuals utilize SFTP programs such as Filezilla or Fetch to upload their files to the WWW server
To start the process of setting up your web site on the WWW server, click here.
PM server accounts for faculty
Faculty members are allowed to set up accounts on the PM server (which runs on the Linux operating system). Benefits to setting up an account on this server include the ability to upload files using Macromedia Dreamweaver or another web authoring tool, without having to use a separate FTP program.
To set up an account on the PM server, you will need to submit a request to the Webmaster's Office either using the RightNow request form, or by contacting us directly.
Once you have your PM account set up, please access our PM server help page for information on how to publish to this server
Currently, students and staff are not permitted personal websites on the PM server.
VMS server accounts
ASU is in the process of transitioning web pages from the VMS server to the WWW2a server. Users with accounts on the VMS server will automatically have their sites moved over to the new WWW2a system.
Click here for instructions on how to connect to the new WWW2a sever.
